Changing Behaviour, Ending Gang Life
Great turnout for last night’s Organized Crime Dialogue. Sgt. Lindsey Houghton, of the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit, and former gang members provided insight on the deadly consequences of gang involvement, and advice how to change harmful behaviour.
Gang prevention needs a multi-faceted strategy, but this responsibility does not rest solely with government and police agencies. As parents, we need to provide our children with role models, help them make positive decisions, and guide them on a healthy path in life.
Thank you to everyone who attended last night’s forum and to the panelists who shared their unique experiences, including moderator Indira Prahst, from Langara’s Sociology department.
